Dr. Elias provides outpatient psychiatric treatment to adults and adolescents. He offers treatment at his office located in the South Bay (Hermosa Beach) and through telemedicine.
Dr. Elias also sub-specializes in Forensic Psychiatry. He has provided expert opinion on various criminal and civil matters through written reports, testimony, and deposition. He is a Los Angeles Superior Court approved panel expert witness in Forensic Psychiatry.
Dr. Elias is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both Adult and Forensic Psychiatry. He is licensed to practice medicine in the states of California and Missouri. He is also licensed as an Out-of-State Telehealth Provider in Florida.
Philosophy
Dr. Elias always says to his patients, "If you don't have a correct diagnosis, you don't know what you're doing". Having trained at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Dr. Elias follows a long tradition of diagnostic rigor that was established by researchers there in the 1950's. It is well known that an incorrect diagnosis can lead to a sub-optimal response to treatment at best and to an exacerbation of one's symptoms at worst. Through meticulous questioning, a thorough family history, and follow-up on response to treatment, Dr. Elias sees to it that he gets your diagnosis correct.
